Why a site rather than a demo

Because the thing that stops people is not the render. Generating a beautiful version of your kitchen takes about forty seconds and costs nothing. Deciding whether to spend thirty thousand dollars making it real is the hard part, and no image answers it.

Product pages in this category all end in the same place: try our editor. These pages end wherever the evidence ends. Several of them conclude that the render you are about to generate will mislead you about the one dimension that matters, and say so before you generate it.

How claims here are checked

Three rules do most of the work. Any figure about another company's product is read from that company's own live page and printed with the date it was read, because free tiers in this category move within weeks. Any cost figure carries its source and its year. And anything we did not verify ourselves is labeled as a vendor claim rather than dressed up as a test result.

That last rule costs us something, and it is worth naming. The strongest page in this niche opens by telling you its author tested every app on the same room photograph. We have not run that test, so we do not write that sentence. What we publish instead is what each vendor states publicly, dated, with the gaps marked as gaps.

Search figures decide which pages exist at all. Those come from Ahrefs, US market, measured on 2026-08-06. Where a page targets a phrase that has not been measured, it says so on the page instead of implying a number nobody checked.

The calculators

They run in your browser and send nothing anywhere. Each one prints the formula it uses and the assumptions behind it, including what it deliberately leaves out — permits, disposal, the surprises behind a wall. An estimate that hides its arithmetic is a sales tool, not a tool.

The app

RenoPeek is building an app that restyles a photo of your own room — the part of this problem that genuinely needs software rather than an explanation. It is not published yet, so there is nothing to download, nothing on this site depends on it, and it does not appear in any comparison table here. When it ships it will be linked from this page.

This site never takes payment. There is no cart, no subscription, no affiliate booking and no payment form anywhere on it. What little it can see about visitors is set out in the privacy note, and the usual legal boundaries are in the terms of use.
