Short version: everything here is free to read, no number on this site is a quote, and no page will ever ask you for money or card details. The rest of this page fills in the edges of those three sentences.

What these guides and calculators are not

They are not a quote, an inspection or a specification. Cost figures published here are read from third-party sources on a stated date and describe an order of magnitude for a typical job in a typical market. Your job is priced after somebody has stood in the room, opened a wall and looked at what is behind it, and no calculator replaces that.

The calculators are deliberately narrow. Each one states what it counts and what it ignores — typically permits, disposal, structural work and anything discovered after demolition begins. Those omissions are not oversights, they are the parts that cannot be estimated from a square footage box, and treating a calculator output as a budget is the mistake these pages exist to prevent.

Nothing here is legal or professional advice. Permit requirements, contractor licensing and, for virtual staging, the disclosure rules that apply to real estate listings vary by state and change over time. Where a page mentions them it does so in general terms, and the authority is your local regulator or your broker rather than us.

Accuracy and changes

The site is provided as it is, without warranty. Figures carry the date they were checked precisely because they go out of date, and pages may be updated or withdrawn. RenoPeek is not liable for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of a guide or a calculator — the section above explains why that limit is a real one rather than boilerplate.

Third-party products are named where naming them is useful, including their weaknesses. Claims about another company's pricing or free tier are that company's own published statements, read on the date shown. No relationship, sponsorship or affiliation is implied.

Using what you read here

Quote it, link it, send it to your contractor. What we ask is that quotations keep the date attached to any figure, since a price without its date is the exact failure this site exists to avoid. Republishing whole pages as your own is a different matter and is not permitted.
